The main purpose of the Serving Core Value Committee is to raise awareness of the St. Vincent de Paul parish family to “serve one another through love” (Galatians 5:13) in the legacy of St. Vincent de Paul himself. Goals are to increase parishioner involvement supporting existing parish ministries, develop leadership succession plans for each ministry, and to communicate service opportunities in the Cape area to our parish family.

To achieve these goals, three areas will be our focus to start:

1) Summaries of each parish ministry are being published in the church bulletin including contact information for members interested in helping with a particular ministry.

2) In the community, St. Vincent parish has registered with the CarePortal network which is a group of area churches who assist children and families in need.

3) Additionally, our parish supports Project Homeless Connect which is a one stop shop for individuals and families to access the resources they need. We will continue to look for opportunities to reach out and serve.
